Dr. Zhenzhou CHENG (IEEE/OSA/SPIE Senior Member) is the Chairman and Professor of the Department of Optoelectronic Information Engineering at Tianjin University, a Visiting Scholar at the University of Tokyo, and Director of the Division of Science and Technology at Xinjiang Normal University (temporary position). He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees both from Nankai University. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electronic Engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong under the support of the Hong Kong Ph.D. Fellowship Scheme. In 2015, he joined Goda Lab in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Tokyo as an assistant professor. In 2018, he joined the School of Precision Instrument and Opto-electronics Engineering at Tianjin University as a full professor. His research interests focus on silicon photonics. He is in charge of several projects funded by NSFC and JSPS. He published over 110 peer-reviewed SCI papers in optical journals, namely, Nature Photonics, and was featured in Stanford University's list of the top 2% scientists. He received several education and research awards, namely, 2023 Outstanding Instructor Award, National College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program; 2014 Second-Class Award in Research Achievements, Ministry of Education, China; 2013 Young Scientist Award, Hong Kong Institute of Science, Hong Kong; 2013 Young Scholars Thesis Awards, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong. He served as an editorial board member of Photonics, and a reviewer for NSFC and Hong Kong GRF, as well as, more than 100 academic journals including Nature Photonics and Nature Communications. Dr. Zunyue ZHANG is currently a research associate in the School of Precision Instrument and Opto-Electronics Engineering at Tianjin University. Dr. Zhang received her B.S. degree in Opto-Electronics Information Science and Engineering from Nankai University, Tianjin, China in 2017 and her Ph.D. degree in Electronics Engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong SAR in 2021. She started her postdoc training in the same group soon afterward in September 2021. Dr. Zhang joined Tianjin University as an Associate Professor in March 2023. Her research interest includes optoelectronic integration on silicon photonics platforms, waveguide-integrated spectrometers, and spectral domain imaging systems. Dr. Zhang has participated in the midstream research programs for universities funded by the Innovation and Technology Commission of Hong Kong SAR twice as the technical leader and received full funding from the Research Talent Hub of the Innovation and Technology Commission to carry out the postdoctoral research work. Dr. Zhang has authored or co-authored 17 SCI papers in journals like Laser & Photonics Reviews, Optica, Photonics Research, etc., and owns one US utility patent. Dr. Yisheng GAO is currently an assistant professor at Tianjin University. Dr. Gao received his B.Sc. degree in optical information science and technology (2012), his M.Sc. degree in optics (2015), and his Ph.D. degree in material physics and chemistry (2020) from Harbin Institute of Technology, respectively. In June 2020, he entered Hong Kong Polytechnic University for postdoctoral research. In February 2021, Dr. Gao joined the School of Precision Instruments and Opto-Electronics Engineering at Tianjin University as an assistant professor. Dr. Gao's primary research interests include the design, fabrication, and applications of metasurface devices and two-dimensional materials. Dr. GAO has published four articles on Nano Letters, ACS Nano, Nano Energy, and Scientific Reports. The relevant research results have been selected as Editors' Choice Article of ACS and have been highly praised by Laser Focus World, Chemistry View, and other Scientific media.

Dr. Yin YU is currently an engineer at Tianjin University. She received her B.Sc. in Material Physics and Ph.D. in Optics both from Nankai University in 2008 and in 2013. Her main research interests are synthesis, regulation, and applications of micro/nanomaterials. Dr. Yu has participated in several projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China during her graduate study. Moreover, she has published more than 10 papers in academic journals and won several honors including the Scholarship of Nankai University and the Outstanding Graduate of Nankai University. In 2013, Dr. Yu joined the School of Precision Instruments and Opto-Electronics Engineering at Tianjin University. She has participated in many projects, namely, national 973 projects, key projects of international cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. She has also led many projects such as the teaching reform project, national innovation and entrepreneurship training project for College Students, ICAN International Innovation, and Entrepreneurship Competition. The project in the “Challenge Cup” National College Student Academic Science and Technology Works Competition has received First-Class Award in Tianjin.
