Dr. Zhenzhou CHENG (IEEE/OPTICA/SPIE Senior Member) is the Chairman and Professor of the Department of Optoelectronic Information Engineering at Tianjin University, a Visiting Scholar at the University of Tokyo, and Director of the Division of Science and Technology at Xinjiang Normal University (temporary position). He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees, both from Nankai University. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electronic Engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong under the support of the Hong Kong Ph.D. Fellowship Scheme. In 2015, he joined Goda Lab in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Tokyo as an assistant professor. In 2018, he joined the School of Precision Instrument and Opto-electronics Engineering at Tianjin University as a full professor. His research interests focus on silicon photonics. He is in charge of several projects funded by NSFC and JSPS. He published over 200 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers with more than 4900 citations and was featured in Stanford University's list of the Top 2% Scientists. He received several education and research awards, namely, Second-Class Award in Research Achievements from the Ministry of Education, China; Second-Class Award in Research Achievements from the Chinese Optical Society, China; Young Scientist Award from the Hong Kong Institute of Science, Hong Kong; Outstanding Instructor Award from National College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program; Young Alumni Award and Young Scholars Thesis Awards from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong. He served as an editorial board member of Photonics and a reviewer for NSFC and Hong Kong GRF, as well as more than 100 academic journals, including Nature Photonics, and received IEEE PTL Outstanding Reviewer Award. He has participated in organizing several academic conferences, including OECC, CLEO-PR, ACP, etc.. Dr. Zunyue ZHANG (IEEE/OPTICA Member) is currently a research associate in the School of Precision Instrument and Opto-Electronics Engineering at Tianjin University. Dr. Zhang received her B.S. degree in Opto-Electronics Information Science and Engineering from Nankai University, Tianjin, China, in 2017 and her Ph.D. degree in Electronics Engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong SAR, in 2021. She received full funding support from the Research Talent Hub of the Innovation and Technology Commission to carry out the postdoctoral research work from September 2021. Dr. Zhang joined Tianjin University as an Associate Professor in 2023. Her research interests include integrated optical spectrometers, mid-infrared photonics, and spectral domain sensing and imaging systems. Dr. Zhang has participated in the Innovation and Technology Support Programme and Midstream Research Programme for Universities funded by the Innovation and Technology Commission of Hong Kong SAR as the technical leader and led the Tianjin University Innovation Funding Programme. Dr. Zhang has published over 10 SCI papers as the first/corresponding author in journals including Applied Physics Reviews, Laser & Photonics Reviews, etc., and delivered over 10 invited/ contributed talks at top conferences like CLEO. She holds one US utility patent and one Hong Kong short-term patent, received the Rising Star Women in Engineering award in 2022, and Huawei Young Scholar Funding in 2024. Dr. Yin YU is currently an engineer at Tianjin University. She received her B.Sc. in Material Physics and Ph.D. in Optics both from Nankai University in 2008 and in 2013. Her main research interests are synthesis, regulation, and applications of micro/nanomaterials. Dr. Yu has participated in several projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China during her graduate study. Moreover, she has published more than 10 papers in academic journals and won several honors including the Scholarship of Nankai University and the Outstanding Graduate of Nankai University. In 2013, Dr. Yu joined the School of Precision Instruments and Opto-Electronics Engineering at Tianjin University. She has participated in many projects, namely, national 973 projects, key projects of international cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. She has also led many projects such as the teaching reform project, national innovation and entrepreneurship training project for College Students, ICAN International Innovation, and Entrepreneurship Competition. The project in the “Challenge Cup” National College Student Academic Science and Technology Works Competition has received First-Class Award in Tianjin.
