Dr. Zhenzhou CHENG (IEEE/OPTICA/SPIE Senior Member) is the Chairman and Professor of the Department of Optoelectronic Information Engineering at Tianjin University and a visiting scholar at the University of Tokyo. He earned his B.Sc. and M.Sc. from Nankai University. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electronic Engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, supported by the Hong Kong Ph.D. Fellowship Scheme. In 2015, he joined Goda Lab in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Tokyo as an assistant professor. In 2018, he joined the School of Precision Instrument and Opto-electronics Engineering at Tianjin University as a full professor. From 2023 to 2025, he was appointed as the Director of the Division of Science and Technology at Xinjiang Normal University. His research interests focus on silicon photonics. He leads several projects funded by MOST, NSFC, and JSPS. He has published over 300 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers, with more than 6000 citations, and was featured on Stanford University's list of the Top 2% Scientists. He received several education and research awards, namely, Second-Class Award in Research Achievements from the Ministry of Education, China; Second-Class Award in Research Achievements from the Chinese Optical Society; Second-Class Award in Teaching Achievements from the China Instrument and Control Society; Young Scientist Award from the Hong Kong Institute of Science; Outstanding Instructor Award from National College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program, China; Young Alumni Award and Young Scholars Thesis Awards from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong. He served as an Associate Editor of Optoelectronics, an editorial board member of Scientific Reports and Photonics, and a reviewer for the NSFC and the Hong Kong GRF, as well as for more than 100 academic journals, including Nature Photonics. Dr. Han Qun is an Associate Professor at the School of Precision Instrument and Opto-electronics Engineering, Tianjin University. He received his M.S. in Optics from Nankai University in 2003 and his Ph.D. in Physical Electronics from Tianjin University in 2006, after which he joined the faculty. In January 2011, he conducted a one-year academic visit to Prof. Xiao Hai’s research group at the Missouri University of Science and Technology, USA. His research focuses on optical fiber sensing, fiber amplifiers and lasers, and novel photoelectric detection and sensing technologies. He has served as the principal investigator or key participant in multiple national research projects, including those supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Basic Research Program (973 Program), the Major Scientific Instrument Development Project, and the National Key R&D Program. He has published over 150 academic papers with more than 2,000 citations, holds six authorized invention patents, two of which have been commercialized, and has received the Tianjin Technology Invention First Prize and the Tianjin Natural Science Third Prize. He also serves as a reviewer for more than 40 domestic and international academic journals and has been recognized as a Top Reviewer by Web of Science. Dr. Xuezhi Zhang is an Associate Professor at the School of Precision Instruments and Opto-Electronics Engineering, Tianjin University. He also serves as Deputy Director of the Department of Opto-Electronic Information Engineering. He received his B.S. degree in 2007 and his Ph.D. degree in 2012, both from Nankai University. From 2010 to 2012, he studied in Prof. Qianfan Xu’s Group at Rice University (USA) as a joint Ph.D. student, focusing on silicon-based chip micro-/nano-device research. His current research focuses on sensing methods and devices. He has led 5 national-level research projects and 2 provincial/ministerial-level teaching reform projects. He proposed a phase-demodulation mechanism for fiber Bragg grating ultrasonic sensing and an event-augmentation method for small-sample fiber-optic data. As the corresponding/lead author, he has published more than 30 papers in well-known international journals, namely Opto-Electronic Advances and Science China: Information Sciences, and holds more than 40 Chinese invention patents. He received the Second Prize of the China Optical Science and Technology Award from the Chinese Optical Society in 2019.

Dr. Zhibin Yang is an Associate Professor at the School of Precision Instrument and Opto-electronics Engineering, Tianjin University. He received his Master of Science in Applied Physics in 2013 and his Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Physics in 2018, both from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). He then remained at PolyU as a postdoctoral researcher. He joined Tianjin University in January 2019 as an associate professor. Dr. Yang has long researched the controllable preparation and device development of two-dimensional layered materials, accumulating solid experience in large-area growth, hetero-integration, and device performance optimization. He has published more than 40 SCI journal papers, including 17 as first/corresponding author in high-impact journals such as ACS Nano, Advanced Materials, InfoMat, and Nano Letters, with a total citation count of over 5,000.

Dr. Zunyue Zhang (IEEE/OPTICA Member) is currently an Associate Research Professor at the School of Precision Instruments and Opto Electronics Engineering, Tianjin University. She received her B.Eng. degree in Optoelectronic Information Science and Engineering from the School of Physical Sciences, Nankai University in 2017, and her Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electronic Engineering, the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2021. In September 2021, she received a fully funded postdoctoral fellowship from the Research Talent Hub of the Innovation and Technology Commission, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. She joined the School of Precision Instruments and Opto Electronics Engineering, Tianjin University in March 2023. Her research interests cover integrated spectroscopic devices, mid-infrared photonics, and the development of spectroscopic imaging and sensing systems. Dr. Zhang has led sub-projects under the National Key R&D Program of China and the Youth Program (Category C) of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. She was selected for the Huawei Young Talent Program in 2024. As the first or corresponding author, she has published 15 papers in top-tier optoelectronic journals, including Laser & Photonics Reviews, one ESI Highly Cited Paper, and eight papers in CAS Q1 journals. She holds 3 authorized Chinese invention patents, as well as one U.S. and one Hong Kong invention patent. She has delivered more than 10 invited/oral presentations at international conferences. Her research achievements received the Nomination Award for Outstanding Achievements in Silicon-Based Optoelectronics from the Chinese Society for Optical Engineering. Dr. Zhang was honored with the Rising Star Women in Engineering award (28 recipients worldwide annually). She currently serves as a Youth Committee Member of the Micro Nano Optoelectronics Committee, Chinese Society for Optical Engineering, Youth Editorial Board Member of Acta Optica Sinica, and a reviewer for journals including Opto Electronic Advances and Photonics Research. Dr. Yin YU is a Senior Experimentalist in the School of Precision Instrument and Opto-Electronics Engineering at Tianjin University. In 2008, she received her B.Sc. in Materials Physics from Nankai University. In 2013, she earned her Ph.D. in Optics from Nankai University. Then, she joined the School of Precision Instrument and Opto-Electronics Engineering at Tianjin University. Currently, she serves as Deputy Director and Party Branch Secretary of the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, responsible for the center's management and teaching tasks, as well as for constructing virtual simulation laboratories and overseeing the daily operations of the Opto-Electronic Information Student Innovation Laboratory at Tianjin University. During her tenure, Dr. Yu has led and participated in several projects, including national 973 projects, key international cooperation projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. She has published over ten papers and led several teaching innovation projects. The innovation and entrepreneurship projects she has supervised, including the National College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Project, the “Challenge Cup” Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition for College Students, the National Undergraduate Optoelectronic Design Contest, and the iCAN International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, have won multiple awards.
